That will take a while...Especially considering games are 90% GPU dominated. Even the slower AMD processors like an FX4100 can output fine frame rates if paired with a strong video cards...Going from a 920 to a 2500K, I felt nothing...

I upgraded from 480SLI to one 780 and got approximately 30% improvement in few games. Not to mention less noise and heat. I think it's worth it.
Now I'm also getting 4770k to complement my 780GTX.

The 980x is still beast. Pair it up with a GTX 780 and you will be golden. thumb.gif

If you are not wanting a professional workstation card, yes, go with the GTX 780.
