A central theme of the game is citizenship (or lack thereof) in the UEE, which must be earned through player actions (such as completing a period of military service). It is anticipated that Citizens will enjoy certain in game benefits, for example paying a reduced tax rate or having easier access to interspecies trade, but the exact details are yet to be determined.

A strong focus will be placed on player interaction, with player behavior influencing and being influenced by a dynamic economy system. Star Citizen is currently being developed by Chris Roberts Cloud Imperium Games, founded in 2011. Roberts' previous works include games such as Wing Commander, Privateer and Freelancer.

Hangar Module [August 29th 2013] - Walk around your starting hangar and view the ships you have purchased. The initial release will only feature the original pledge ships: the Aurora, Hornet, 300i, Constellation, and Freelancer, as well as the Cutlass. There will be some limited customization options and testing of the in-game purchase system. Later builds will feature more ships and more types of hangars, as well as allow you to invite friends to enter your hangar with you and use a Rift DK.


Dogfighting Module [June 4th 2014] - Exit the hangar with your ships and engage in dogfights with other players, testing for balance, functionality, performance, player count, etc.


FPS Module [2015]- Fight against each other and test out more of the FPS functions in the game.


Social/Planetside Module [2015]- Travel to the surface of planets to socialize with other players and visit the NPCs, businesses, etc that populate the environments.


Squadron 42 [2015] - Branching single player missions (Dark Souls-like online component), in which you enlist in the UEE military in hopes of making it into Squadron 42, a team of the most elite pilots of the UEE military. There isn't a fixed ending to the campaign, you could make it into Squadron 42, you may fail. You may be called back into service later when there are expansions to the campaign story, which is absolutely integrated into the same universe as the multiplayer game, but operates as a separate entity.


Persistent Universe Beta Module [End of 2015] - The primary component of Star Citizen, the PU is the open galaxy for you to explore. You create your own gameplay. One server will host everyone playing the game. CIG's target player count per instance is 50-100 players.


Live Release [2016-2017] - Initial release version available for purchase. Continued support is planned, with updates on a two week cadence delivering new content, progressing the living story of the universe, and improving the game in addition to paid expansion packs to the single player campaign at some points.

Just upgraded my package from Colonel, to a Rear Admiral and two Digital Mercenarys. The Connie for me, and an Aurora for each of my nephews so we can all ride together, or they can drive their own ship. Now I have 60 bucks of instore credit for anything coming up.

I like the idea of being able to switch items between ships since they are all RSI.

they have trouble with animations so who knows if they manage to do it before thursday. i have now cutlas, 300i and freelancer + lot of skins. will melt the cutlass maybe pledge more to pledge for connie or maybe another 2 freelancers dont know

there should be as of 28.8 a gamestar coupon code for 10usd so i might use it to buy aurora so i have something to start with. EDIT: a guy tried to use existing coupon and it did not work, so the codes are unique and you must have the newspaper with the dvd ...
i love connie but uglancer has strange character and can be managed by a single person. only fully equipped connie will be able to manage on its own with 3 npc on board

wont buy saitek x65 yet, possible k+m will suffice and then there is a rumor that they will release their own joystick with some vendor be it thrustmaster or saitek

also i dont know what to do if i should go for lti. i might ask go4life for help but i am really not set. i mean i might be melting ships a lot so i dont want to bother other people

PS: who needs a card, when you have a startek pod
