This is a 3rd party utility that serves to unpark your cores within multicore systems .... evens out CPU spikes and provide less stuttering. Compatible with W7 - 8.1/Intel/AMD, and from anecdotal evidence boosted frames 5-10FPS and up.

One could run A/B test, simply by loading BF4 training world and looking at sky while monitoring CPU load graphs.

Have at it, credit goes to utility author.

1. Run .exe

2. Click "Check Status"

3.Click "Unpark All"

4. Restart

5. Benefit. thumb.gif

Windows 8 and 8.1 has already core parking disabled.

What is this sorcery and why does it work? It improved my FPS quite a bit.

Are there drawbacks to unparking your cores?

Negligibly higher electricity usage at worst.

Or just lower your resolution to something smaller, bigger isn't always better if it comes at the cost of performance.

The issue with changing resolutions is that most LCDs are blurry at non-native resolutions. CRTs it didn't matter, but nowadays most 1080p screens just look crappy at any other resolution.
