I picked this game up yesterday after my friend drove the hype train through my apartment and I must say, I like it a lot. I am a fan of baldurs gate 2 but I dont play it much now a days because of some of the modern things that it lacks. With PoE they kept everything good about BG2 and fixed everything that I had issues with before with the older games. IT is seriously a masterpiece and I cant wait to get home and play more tonight. My only gripe as of right now is the lack of multiplayer co op. My friend and I love to play baldurs gate together and I would really love to do the same with this but alas we will have to wait.

Someone online mentioned the game to me last week and I was; "Oh yeah, I have heard the name, not sure what it is about..." Then actually read some of my e-mails rather than just marking them as read and realized this is something I actually backed on Kickstarter and I own a digital download of the game tongue.gif

I come from the net. Through systems, peoples and cities to this place: Mainframe. My format: Guardian; to mend and defend. To defend my new-found friends, their hopes and dreams. To defend them from their enemies. They say the user lives outside the net and inputs games for pleasure. No one knows for sure, but I intend to find out. Reboot!

In the future everyone will be Ozymandias for 15 minutes. Or something.

Unrelated to other Slinkies.

lol hearsay or heresy?

I know BG is a better game, but I love the combat, and IWD was the pinnacle of that.

Heresay Hearsy whatever you call it! Only playing, you're right IWD was to on the rails combat kind of game for me. I enjoyed it but I only played through once, unlike BG and Torment, different strokes and all that smile.gif

What about these reviews of bad/broken mechanics? The trailer on steam shows some janky looking mechanics. There are very few bad reviews on steam, can anyone confirm otherwise? The good reviews are just people drooling about BG. I spent all my time on D2:LoD so idga* how much its like BG....is it goooood?

EDIT: P.s. Thank you for reminding me about PoE. I really enjoyed that game.

I have the game, it is pretty good so far. However, I was only 15 minutes or so in to the game, when I ran into the first bug. Not a huge bug, but it happened so early it made me pause and think I might be better off waiting a couple of weeks to make sure no save breaking patches aren't introduced. I'd hate to get deep into this and have a patch break the save.

I'm wondering something, if say, someone like me who never played BG or any of those infinity engine crpgs would have a hard time with it? I'm really curious about it but as far as crpgs go I've only played Wasteland 2, Divinity Original Sin and Shadowrun Returns. I'm actually hesitant because of the real time element to it.
