Haha thats nuts, I wonder if it was a mistake and corporate is not on the same page so their trying to cover their asses and looking like idiots. I would just report it as fraud on my credit card. Amex will win that battle hands down.

Reading through the forum link I posted, UBI is going back and changing information to reflect the "new" collectors edition and claiming the original picture was just a stock picture, which has since been replaced.

One user even has the screen cap from April
Collector_EN_Mini.jpg

They've also apparently went and edited the store information as well and are refusing to issue out refunds because it's "digital".

Considering it's not on steam I fail to see how that helps here tongue.gif Also if you cancel the credit charge or dispute it they lock your account (blocking all your purchased titles) like Origin if I recall.

This is why I refuse to by any game that requires UPlay or Origin.....there is simply no trust left with those two companies in my eyes.

Any game from origin can be returned they started it before steam did, not sure why steam gets all the credit for stuff they don't start. Hell Origin just game me red alert 2 for free, I have not gotten anything from steam.

Also that stock image probably was a mistake it says PEGI. Clearly it was made for Europe. Now I'm not saying UBISOFT didn't screw up cause they did, Just pointing out that there is some evidence it truly was an accident. Doesn't excuse how they are handling it. They really need to issue a full apology accept refunds or look to provide the dics.

Its one thing for a game company to think all North American PC gamers are pirates and just sell digital copies, its another thing to pull a bait and switch on the honest consumer. Konami pulled a similar stunt with MGSV.

I'm not convinced it was a bait and switch. Until I see an original image that doesn't show PEGI and shows physical discs. I don't condone how they are handling it but I also don't jump on hate wagons.
