[Crytek] Hunt Showdown

Hi all.

I think in this forum there should be someone that loves and hate this game as i do......

Personal screenshots (low-medium details 3440x1440):

So let's start this as the discussion thread of this interesting and talented game.

For sure there must some streamer somewhere here that plays it, am I wrong?

Cheers

p.s: a discussion thread needs a OP with details regarding the game itself and updates or it can be just a more "relaxed" thread?

I have it, played ~10 et or so games, 6+ months ago. While fun, me and my friend hoped for more meat on the bone, it certainly has potential.

In the last six months they added:

new map
new gameplay mode (quickplay which cough cough blinks to BR gameplay to speed up the matches) for both maps
new guns/traits/consumables

you should play it again

performance are okish (i average 60s on a fury nitro oc default and 3440x1440, medium custom settings with no AA)

when I have time (when?) I will add some content to this thread, and some yt videos too to let see what pros and not-pros can do

In these days will be deployed the 6th patch that will had more content and a new boss

I also felt parts of the maps were unexplorable which made it feel linear

Really? I did not had that feeling..... you can jump/fell on literally everypart of the map/compounds/lakes

this can bring solo people or sneaky teams to avoid usual most quick but "crowd" passages to avoid unwanted conflicts or so.... usually there are always at least three passages to arrive to the same compound of interest (boss)

New map is more "open" but it has more up and downs, so you can hide anyway if you like so, the real "danger" is noise (crows, ducks, dogs and so on)

in the last period I'm playing solo vs duos, and since I'm a potato at it I usually die at some point but it is the real challenge of the game and where you can have the biggest satisfactions.....is the best of all the training too.....you have to be well aware of where you are, where to go and when to attack/wait. Delicious.

When running for the exit, after you've finished a boss, that's the point I felt I was sort of forced to follow trails.

I feel that if a map wants to feel more open, that it should let you, more easily, not follow a forced route. If the exit is at X, you should be able to go through the woods as easily as on the trail.

But this is just my opinion

Ok got your point

well, it is ok to me that woods make a person slower since you have a advantage that the trail does not have: you can hide and not be immediately visible so it is a choice....been caught in the middle of a trail or in the woods? Since you can see nearby hunters in 150 meters for 10 seconds can prevent campers but not a fight-in-the-middle to get out....is one of the selling point of the title imho
