What happen with MMOs?

Wth happen with MMOs, nobodys playing anymore, and there´s no decent releases anymore. Im talking about things like l2, aion, tera, wow and similar. Only wow survived....

Did all the player base moved to mobile and battle royale games¿ Sadly aion, tera and l2 were killed by greedy publishers, but still they did last for a while being playable....

FFXIV, ESO, EVE Online are all still online. Guild Wars 2 might still be hanging on, and SWTOR is also getting an expansion this year.

Tera died because of lack of proper maintenance and content. But recently combat wise it was greatly upgraded, you might want to try it again.

Just thinking that Fortnite, CSGO, R6S, LOL, DOTA/2, Overwatch are eating into the the MMO pie (who doesn't want to win $3M AND play games?). What do all of those have in common?

I've heard about ppl wanting new content and games dying because they keep refreshing all over the same thing, but i dont think games really need new content so often. In my opinion they need good scalability from the start, a good base, and to have a not extremely greedy company behind it. Wow proved it in the past. Wondering why the **** nobody copies them.

24/7 maintenance? Unlimited support? Cheap lootboxes? I have no idea...
