EA Banned me from Battlefield V

So, I received Battlefield V with the purchase of my MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z. I have never been a huge FPS player, mostly racing games/SIMS. Of course back in the day the original Modern Warfare and a few Battlefield games, but found out I really suck and die way more than I kill, lol.

Anyway, I got an email from EA stating that I had been banned permanently from online play for cheating. I played through most of the campaign and decided to jump online in some TDM to see how the new card played with my upgrade to a 9700K and get some benchmarks. I was online for one round and quit to analyse frame rate and such. Wasn't online for over twenty minutes.

In the email it did not state what was flagged as the cheat, possibly Afterburner, Icue, HwMonitor or task manager? I have never had the desire to load any kind of cheat in nay game during the twenty years I have been gaming on PC. Ifigure it had to be one of these monitoring programs as I had them all running.

Needless to say, I will never buy an EA game again and will buy through Steam, which is my main source of game anyway.

Any insight to what may have caused this would be appreciated. I have emailed EA and they said they had reviewed the case and will not lift the ban.

I have never had any issue with any of the software you mentioned being flagged, myself. Maybe some "monitor crosshair overlay/MB audio radar/etc issue?

Edit-you didn't boost stats on a low pop server did you?

I tried downloading Crossfire a few weeks ago and I got insta banned as soon as I joined a game and got a message saying hack tools have been detected. No idea what would have caused it but my best guess is it might be BitDefender because it sometimes prevents applications from writing to certain directories etc. Never had an issue with BF5 though.

I almost forgot I posted this. I would protest if I gave a damn, but I don't.

I dont use any antivirus besides built into Windows 10.

I thought I might get some insight to what some of these monitoring apps do to games as in being flagged as cheats.

Thanks for the humorous replies, guess some others besides me arent big fans of EA

Afterburner, Task Manager, HWInfo, etc don't get you falsely banned, I have those open 24/7 on my second monitor and never had any issues and have ~80 hours into BFV.

as stated,

if they banned for the apps you suspect, they'd have 50% of their current player base, due to banning the rest.

you'd need to petition to figure out ***

its likely you were perceived as doing something other than you were.

I doesn't surprise me. I never could make the transition into modern FPS. Too much crying, banning, reporting, etc etc. Start winning, start getting vote kicked. IDK if this is still the case, I'd hope they've developed better detection & response systems by now, but no clue.

Had all kinds of monitoring tools as well in Crossfire in BF4 and never had any problems back in the day to help me stabilize overclocks.
