Warzone is fun but the servers are trash.
Apex is doing well, but my fav are CS:GO and R6S.

Guilty of playing pubg from time to time (For old times sake)

Had recently a lot of issues with APEX servers, although probably all suffer equally from the far higher constant player base recent weeks
At least on the positive node of things - EU (which has literally every night after 8PM GMT, ISP issues)
At least our providers finally have to focus on going up to date, because our old infrastructure just can't hold up with more than double the used-to-known stress&usage

I agree but trust me you have nothing against this

8Mbps/1Mbps (300gb bandwidth) for 70$ a month
took me four days to download the latest R6S update and 3 to download warzone

One nice thing is that if you don't care about useless cosmetic items most of the battle royale shooters are free to play.

So Apex Legends, Fortnight, CoD Warzone, etc.

You can also pay for the full version of CoD that has other game modes like team deathmatch, domination, search & destroy...

I would just load up a few of the free ones and see what you like best before sinking money into anything. Apex legends can be pretty fun and is based in the Titanfall universe if you ever played those. I used to play CS:GO and noticed it's free to play now.
