Entertainment is Tanking

Entertainment is Tanking, for some really strange reasons. I am not here to list those reasons, I am here to ask, why are these companies, going out of their way, to destroy their own intellectual prosperities. the latest game to be destroyed by the company that created it, is the game "The Last of Us II". Comic Books are collapsing, and even the move industry is tearing it self apart, Star Wars being a great example of this. this does not make since, these businesses are supported through public support. so why have they wasted billions of dollars over the past few years creating entertainment that most people are not spending money on?

no those are examples of failed IP's. here are a few more, the movie birds of pray, the game fallout 76, the comic she hulk, and the game anthem. do I really need to give you hundreds of examples, before you will be able to understand what my question is? (if you don't know, that's fine too, as that is why I asked this question)

Simple. Get woke go broke. We are sexist because we didnt like Captain Marvel.......because we are not ready for a "woman lead role or super hero"........never mind Wonder Woman is awesome and did well.

Have you seen that video for the latest marvel super hero verse or whatever......it's pretty bad, but if you dont like it......it just mean's you're some sort of bigot and all the other phobia's and ism's. It's intersectionality vs actually good story's and character's.

ok, fair assessment. now, here is my issue with that, these companies are in business to make money, and their products currently, are not making a profit. so who, or what companies, are paying to have this failed entertainment be produced?

one would think, that after having a few of these projects fail on the market, they would stop producing these forms of entertainment, but they have not done this, and they try to blame the general public, for not supporting it. again, how can they afford to do this?

Ya, they dont listen to fan's though. They listen to the screaming twitter activist and blame the real fan's when it fails.

They can only take losses for so long. I also think that's why Hollywood is appeasing the CCP in order to get in to the Chinese market. Because if they didn't have that source of revenue I think they would of changed their strategy sooner.

Another aspect is I feel like all these franchises are just terrible stories in service of CGI instead of CGI being in service to the stories. They're running off nostalgia and doing a pretty terrible job at it.

Star Wars is failing? I thought it was doing better than ever.

Captain Marvel was an awesome movie.

I don't know what Birds of Prey is so it must not be on streaming platforms yet.

I didn't know that comic books were still a thing, but I have never cared for them.
