I need a bit of help finding an old game I used to play back in my high school computer class 1998. I've tried to google the hell out of it but came up with nada

It's 2d and you have a tank. You go around and collect what it would seem as pods that you can setup with guns that would kill whoever intruded. The point would be to collect other peoples pods and have control over all of them if possible.

If anyone has any idea as to what I'm talking about I'd greatly appreciate the name of the game or ideas as to what it is.

Thanks!

I wish the name was rage incoming... this game is like finding a needle in a haysack. I believe it's a tank single shooter with nodes and roaming around a 2d board

More info needed...

Straight top down? 3D? Isometric (doubtful)? Are the graphics solid colors or textures?

Try to remember anything you can - what did the menus look like? Multiplayer? If so, was it LAN, or same PC, or something else?
