If this never turns out working I'm going more towards pc gaming.
Ever since the new update my xbox will not update. I will sign in to my profile then it tells me I need to do the system update. I press yes and let it do it's thing. After it restarts I get an error E66 please see xbox customer support. Why is this? How can I update this? Xbox has been starting to tick me off. Pc is way more reliable.

It appears this issue affects flashed drives.
Did you flash your Xbox and you updated it while using a flashed firmware?

Laptop: Pentium Dual Core 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, Intel Mobile Chipset Family Integrated GPU - Running Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal and LOVING IT

Then I regret to inform you that since you've been using backed up copies (likely illegally) you are now banned from a service.

Surprised? Shouldn't be.

Not every user who jailbreakes their devices whats to use illegal copies, or even copies of games at all.

Well, id ask for your moneys back from your "Buddy", microsoft is always cracking down on copyright infringement, and as you have had your system "jailbroken" then they have most likely black listed you.

Flashed firmware + updating = bad. You may be able to flash it back to stock though.

even if the device is flashed back to stock firmware, the ban on device will stand, and will more than likely remain on microsoft's device blacklist.
