[Survey] Z390 Motherboard Owners Survey

Hey guys,

I didn't want to make two threads so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I recently purchased these items:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($529.89 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X72 Liquid CPU Cooler ($159.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($219.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($247.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 970 4 GB STRIX Video Card (2-Way SLI)
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 970 4 GB STRIX Video Card (2-Way SLI)
Case: NZXT - H700i ATX Mid Tower Case ($190.01 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair - Professional 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($229.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $1577.76
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The last of which items will arrive on Monday the 25th.

However, I'm a little confused on motherboard. I have always used ASUS boards for my last 3 builds and have never really had trouble. However, after reading online apparently the Maximus XI's VRM design has been criticized all over different forums, blogs, and youtube videos.

I really like the Gigabyte Aorus Master with its 12phase design and extra M.2 slot. I just don't know at this point. Any input will be appreciated.

I have also created a Google Forms Survey for members to use so future builders and curious users can see what others are using and achieving without too much effort.

The survey link can be found here: https://goo.gl/forms/MX5IpEtzMbXGC6g22

Don't really understand the form, you ask for max OCs and then load and idle temps. I don't know anyone who runs a max frequency/suicide OC for long enough to know either of those numbers.

Intel i9 9900K Coffee Lake @ X8 5309mhz (+47.5%)
AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)
Intel i5 4690K Haswell @ X4 5013mhz (+43.2%)
AMD X4 960T Zosma @ X6 4870mhz (+62.3%)
Intel i7 6700 Skylake @ X4 4709mhz (+38.5%)
Intel i5 6400 Skylake @ X4 4588mhz (+69.9%)

You just bought 2 970s for SLI in a 9900k build which has $260 in ram and a $250 SSD with only 1tb of storage. I hope this isn't a gaming rig, if so you probably should have asked a question or two first.
We already have a 9900k OC thread.

That's why I made it optional. Just so if people wanted to add them they are there for a more complete overview.

Sorry, I already own the 970's. They will be transplanted into the new setup to save a little bit of money where I can. I also have about 35TB worth of storage in my server and 8TB SSDH hybrid that will be into my new rig from my current one.

Did you re-use an old PSU because 1200 watts is massive overkill and the HXi is not really worth buying when there are much better options that costs less
As for the motherboard have you looked at the Asrock Taichi?
