New Build Audio/VST Cubase -- any recommendations?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sWHQmq

Cubase typical project for me

7 audio tracks --- 20 active plugins
5 VST instruments (drums, synths, etc..)

I will be using existing nvida 970

any recommendations?

A 650 watt is overkill for that system with a GTX 970, you can get a Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum 550 watt for $100 on newegg and the gold version for $85

https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-focu...-193-_-Product
https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-focu...-189-_-Product

Even the Prime Ultra Gold 550 watt is less than the Prime Snow Silent and its an improved version of the Snow Silent
https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-prim...-207-_-Product

An even better deal is the Corsair RMx 550 watt for as little as $60 with rebate on newegg
https://www.newegg.com/corsair-rmx-s...-231-_-Product

The 650 watt even if way overkill is $70 with rebate on newegg

- forgot to mention I do have my prime backup drives 2 - 2tb HDD 7200 rpm - once the project is done I move it over there.
- had bad experience with AMD in the past for audio production/latency same audio interface. maybe it's just me - but don't trust it atm.

The nvme helps with multiple high speed streams of data being written. Dedicating one to the project currently in production and one to the boot/plugins/samples definitely makes a difference. In heavy load live performance rigs where things need to be instant we even put the plugins and samples on devices of their own.

Sounds like you dealt with a messed up mobo with trash typology or bios acpi timer issues. Never had a problem with AMD vs Intel, only sub par motherboards and power systems. All im saying is you'll probably be able to get 12 or 16 cores with SMT for the same price or less than you are about to spend right now. Not to mention the fact that native TB will probably be appearing on the next gen AMD stuff... I know i'd wait a bit personally if i was building a new rig for audio production.

If your set on intel though, rock it. Setup looks good, if ya dont do two nvme's atleast replace the M.2 SATA WD Blue SSD with a NVME. Go for the platinum PSU.
