Turbo Boost 3.0 Issue again after 1903 update?

Hello there,

I've just updated my Windows 10 Pro to Version 1903 and now my Turbo boost, probably due to the micro code update, stopped working again.

Before, it overclocked to 4.0 or 4.2 GHz, depending on how I set it up, now it just goes up to 3.7 GHz.

Is there a way to change this?

I'm on an Asus X99 Deluxe 2 motherboard.

Michael

hmm, thanks for letting me know that I should check on my Prime... IDK if asus does bios updates for the cheapest tier though

On my x99 i had to go in and take ownership of mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll and delete the mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll in system32 then after rebooting my overclock came back my board had a update in 2018 to address the exploits but windows is forcing a even newer one on us that breaks overclocking on some platforms.

So you haven't tried it on 1903 yet?

Yeah they probably force a newer versions to deal with the never ending vulnerabilities of Intel CPUs... They don't put out enough updates for mobo UEFIs. Most older platforms don't get any at all. X99 is prehistoric at this point. Don't expect updates.

This is bull****, the error already occured 1 year after the second generation of x99 launched...

While other CPUs never had an issue so far.

So you're fine if your 9900ks overclock doesn't work anymore in about 3 months time? What is your ******* reasoning. Sorry, it just makes me mad. It is a quintessential feature of the CPU, like main feature that stopped working early on after it's launch...
