I didn't notice a difference after upgrading from the 6700k to my 9900k in gaming. Save your money and wait for Ocean Cove in 2022. Which motherboard do you have? You might be able to mod it to run a 9900k like I did.

So please, don't spread misinformation.

Can't comment on any game other than BFV, but it was entirely playable on near maxed settings at 1440p with my old 6700 @ 4.6.

I did get gains going to an i9, but it wasn't even in the realm of unplayable on a 6700.

It was playable, never said it was not. But the bottleneck was so hard, GPU usage kept being below 90% in 1080p and hovered around 92 in 1440p, in 4k it was mostly 95-98%.

The i7 6700k will have about 3%-6% FPS deficit at 1440p with RTX GTX 1080ti. If you can increase the i7 6700k clock speed to 4.8GHz there won't be any deficit in FPS at even 1080p 144Hz.

Here is a 3% deficit comparison for i7 7700k witch is close to the i7 6700k and the GTX 1080ti is close to the RTX 2080 super. LINK: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/i...-9700k/14.html

Here is a 6% deficit comparison for i3 8350k witch is a 4 core close to the i7 6700k and RTX 2080ti is close to the RTX 2080 super. LINK: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/a...-3900x/16.html
