Would a 6700k bottleneck a 2080 super?

So I just recently got a 2080 Super (Replacing my old, and slightly tired 980 ti) and havent had any issues yet, gaming at 1440p, but I'm wondering if the 6700k I currently have could end up being a bottleneck with that card, and if so how bad could it be?

It will bottleneck 2070 already. Yes, on 1440p too.

The 4core 8 thread cpu is a bottleneck on some games. IPC is fine though.

Just to expand on this, 6700k vs 9900k (both @ 5Ghz) will vary depending on games in terms of a bottleneck on a 2070 or 2080. For instance, OP plays @ 1440p so the gap will be about 1-10% depending. Got to factor in cost as well. Is 10%'ish worth having to buy a new motherboard, CPU, and possibly faster ram? It can easily add up to $1K for 10%.

It probably is bottlenecking the 2080. How much it is being bottlenecked will depend on the game you are playing. If you are tying to play games at 60hz on 1440p I wouldn't even worry about it. You will most likely never see frame rate dip below 60 fps regardless of what you do. If you are playing at 120hz, then you might want to look at the situation more carefully.

...as others stated above, it depends to some extent on the games; and it also depends on your memory sub-system and even how much bloatware you got running while gaming. But in my experience, bottleneck was a minor issue when I got two Aorus 2080 Ti last December and tested each of them first in my test bench before mounting them into a new 16c build. The test bench is a 6700K @ 4.8 giggles with dual channel DDR4 / 3866 and Z170 SOC Force mobo.

Bottleneck was what? xd. Mister, with my 5775c that runs circles around your 6700k for two weeks of testing 2080 Ti bottleneck was a serious issue even in 4k in:

- Deus Ex Mankind Divided
- The Witcher 3
- Crysis 3

And the CPU got destroyed in:
- Battlefield V
- Assassins Creed Odyssey.

So please, don't spread misinformation.
