Hey, I was thinking about trading in my fat ps2 for a slim ps2 because I find the fat ps2 sorta laggy with some games. I just wanted to know if the slim ps2 is any faster than te fat one so its actually worth the time to go out and trade it in, if it isn't any faster I'm just gonna trade in all my ps2 stuff for an xbox and some games.

Yeah, there's no difference. Anything laggy on a fat PS2 will be just as laggy on a slim PS2.

If you've played the PS2 games that interest you and have an interest in some XBox exclusives, then making that swap is not a bad idea at all.

Ok, thanks guys. I think I'll take VulcanDragon's advice on this one and get an xbox, most of the ps2 titles are on the xbox too plus I can get some ones exclusive to xbox .

I'd also say switch with an Xbox (Xbox or Xbox360?) either way I liked my Xbox a ton more than my PS2 and obviously I like my 360 the most, but I've had the Xbox for about 3 years and it has never failed me, while I've gone through 4 PS2s since the PS2 came out (got it at launch) because they are cheaply made in comparison to the Xbox which is built more sturdily, I guess. Or at least with a better optical drive lol.

Plus, in general I have enjoyed more Xbox games than I have Playstation games even though I literally grew up with the original Playstation but didn't have an Xbox until I was in Middle school (they came out when I was in 6th or 7th grade I think).

EDIT: Oh, forgot to say of my 4 PS2s, 3 were originals while the newest is a slim one and while it looks a ton cooler it performs exactly the same.

Nah, I don't wanna get a ps3..All the stuff and addons for it looks too expensive and seeing how the performance from ps1 and ps2 weren't that good I can't really expect ps3 to be really that good. I'm gonna get an xbox 360 (eventaully lol)
