I am cheap to a point, I do not mind building a good PS4 system, but I am not going to pay $60 a game, for a console experience on a PS5. I have a good PC for high end gaming.

I am just looking to build a nice PS4 gaming station, like my PS3 gaming system is now. I will not be using this system for movies, it will be for gaming only.
If it's only going to be for gaming on a ps4 pro (no movies or smart tv functions to watch movies) I wouldn't spend any extra money on a 4k screen because your games will be 1080p.

Still trying to push that anti-console agenda, huh? I've seen your posts in console threads before. We get it. Ignorance is bliss and you're clueless to reality. Lying to the OP isn't very helpful and I'm sure he can see right through your nonsense. Wouldn't you rather google these things than look like a fool?

well I have noticed that different games, will play at different resolutions. so the recommendation of getting a monitor/TV that works well at all the different resolutions, was a good idea. still do not know what I monitor/TV I need to get, but I think I am getting closer. any suggestions?

He tried to straight up make you believe that PS4 Pro games don't natively run at resolutions greater than 1080p, which is a lie. You'll be hard-pressed to find any major games that run at 1080p on PS4 pro as the vast majority are native 1440, native 4K, or checkerboarded 4K. Second, regardless of internal resolution, the PS4 pro will always output a 4K signal, so the TV will never see a sub-4K resolution.

I have a playstation 4 pro, I'm basing it off my own use. If that was 4k then I take back what I said, but I did not think that what I was playing was 4k. The media looked fine, very much like the movies through my firetv with 4k, so I assumed the games were at a lower resolution.

It doesn't look anything like my pc games do at 4k through the same screen so I'm still not sure if they should be calling that 4k.

If just for console gaming get the TLC model and save yourself some money. If for more Vizio's are pretty cheap and depending on the model are very nice TV's. I have a 65P model and i have no complaints

Not sure if the TCL has same panel as Hisense, I picked up a Hisense 4k w/roku for cheap, the 55" is $300, or was few months back.
I got a 65" due to not wanting to pack it up and return for my father in law. I bought it off him for list no tax, because it had HDMI 2.0 ports that are configurable. (not sure if that matters) and was interested in the roku part of it while I had been setting it up for him the week before.

Netflix 4k looks good on it. haven't gamed on it tho. It looked comparable to the TCL from my experience.
Just throwing it out there since you mentioned the TCL. GL

One other plus for Vizio is that most of the models have RCA out (with volume control through the tv remote) that makes them super easy to integrate into your audio setup. If you have a spare optical input or use a receiver then it doesn't matter, but it can be really helpful if you don't have either of those two things. I had to buy a dac for my LG because it only had optical out

If you happen to have a MicroCenter near you then I would give them a looksy because they offer some awesome old model/refurb/open box deals on TV's. I got my 50" vizio from them as a refurb for $300 back when 4k tv's were selling for at least double that.

weird time to be going all in on a PS4.... PS4 is EOL, barely does anything anyone on this site would call 4K outside of console evangelists. new consoles come in a year. Buy a refurb w. replacement warranty.

not to mention that current 4K TVs will be next year's black friday TVs now that consoles will be forcing 4K120hz support.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
