Pong, ca. 1979, on the first Atari console. That was the first digital game I was able to play on my TV. Before then, various arcade games like asteroids in bars. And before then, analog pinball and shooting games going way back into the '60s.
Then a few years with Commodore 64 and TRS-80 gaming in the early 80s, followed by misc. consoles during the late 1980s through the early 90s, and a bit of dabbling with games on Mac Performas.
Fast forward to 1994 and the purchase of a Packard Bell Pentium I system, and Bungie's Marathon hooked me, while the shareware version of Doom I reeled me in. By the time Rise of the Triad: Dark War was introduced the following year, I was addicted.
