Nice overclock on your x5675 there
Those things turn out to be pretty decent with a lil bump in hertz
Grave digging a little, but I just got back into the Opteron game for making some home servers. I got a couple killer deals. I got 10 unlocked Opteron 6164's for $140 and 200GB of ram for $130. I'm hoping to run the Opterons around 3.6-3.8GHz. I want to get a few Rx 480/580's and play with graphics pass through on VMs.
I found some other useful information. For K10 based processors (like the unlocked Opteron 6164), you can use the GUI tool Phenom MSR Tweaker http://phenommsrtweake.sourceforge.net/ instead of Turion Power Control. For Linux you will still need TPC though.

I retuned the AMD Opteron 1389 3625mhz core on 2750mhz northrbridge hypertransport with 16gb ddr3-1667

So I installed my Dual Xeon X5675 & Overclocked Them a Little... beating the Ryzen 1800X stock on AIDA CPU Queen with 87K Score pretty nice...
Single thread from X5650 went from 270 to 305 basically & from 4000 to 4400 nearly... So it's worth it because it was $85 for the 2 Xeon's

You'll have a real hard time getting it to 5GHz on that. On a custom loop I had a hard time getting to 5GHz. On Dry ice I came super close to 6GHz though. I won't deny these things clock like champs; but 5GHz may be a little far fetched for the stock cooler (at least, stable anyways). Definitely let us know where you get though!
Hope you enjoy it!
Sure thing! Yeah that's why I'm replacing the stock heatsink fan with a 80 CFM Delta 80mm fan so I have the thermal overhead airflow to cool not only the CPU Heatsink but also the VRM as well as it gets real hot at load.
I think it can do nearly 4500mhz on stock voltage as stock voltage is 1.425v & could probably clock it to 4.5Ghz without voltage increase.
For 5-6Ghz It'll be just for fun & to get maximum Cinebench r15 & CPUz scores but I also want to compare the FX 8100 to the Operton 1389 using the same motherboard.
Something like 4Ghz might be 24/7 usage clock but with 2500mhz hyper transport to maybe 2750mhz hyper transport northbridge clock to get the most out of the chip.
Since the Opteron 1389 could handle about 2900mhz hyper transport/ northbridge clock that took the ram up to 20GB/s & I think 8100 can do 24-26GB/s because of has support for 1600mhz memory vs 1389 only had 1333mhz memory support
