yes guys, just moved from a 8700k to a 9900ks and I am having strange values on IT8686E, waiting for an answer from Gigabyte support. Maybe is better to follow the topic here https://www.overclock.net/forum/5-in...l#post28217162 |

Also, wondering if anyone is running a 9900K or KS on this motherboard.
See my post at bottom of that thread and the one before it where I link this vid: I believe it can be done, just appropriate changes in BIOS need to be made because of the additional current draw. |

Mooncheese | Anyone here with 9900k? I'm contemplating upgrading from 8700k to 9900ks maybe next year. How is compatibility? BIOS? Thanks. |

Anyone here running a 9900k with this board ???? I have a weird upgrade path that I can transfer my 8700k to another Z370 board but I need this board for a 9900k .... I read that the VRMs might not be able to handle the load with an overclock to an 8 core CPU .... Just want to ask here before I pull the trigger
As long as you replace the stock thermal pads on the VRM heatsInk with good 1.5mm ones, you should be good on the VRM temps. I had the Gaming 7 and stock, the VRMs run hot under stress load testing the CPU. The thermal pad replacement fixes this issue. As a FYI, the VRMs on the Gaming 7 AFAIK go to 130X before they throttle, which is higher than most mobo VRMs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Worldwin | Nope/. My guess is concerns over VRM temps. |
