Mac20nine Mostly what a quick search has found is just more complaints and badmouthing. I did find https://www.soundonsound.com/forum/v...p?f=20&t=24564 if that's allowed, where, if I read this correctly, re-setting something in the bios got him booting. Not sure if that will help. Maybe over at Johnnyguru they have info.

Cheers,

Mac

What did you replace it with?

justinjja Up and running with another psu.
All I can think of is ocp is tripping just charging the capacitors.

If anyone has a better explanation I would love to hear it.

Upgraded cpu/mobo - no post

Had a rig with a 1080ti, and an i7 4790 w/ a Cx600 psu.

Swapped out the board/cpu with an 8600k and now it doesn't post
lights up for a split second and shuts off right away like something is shorted.

Weird thing is, If I pull out the gpu and replace it w/ a basic GT740 gpu it boots up fine.
Also boots up fine if I power the 1080ti with a second psu.

Any idea what is going on?

Really wouldn't expect this rig to need more than 600w, especially not to just post.
