Ceadderman I guess what I was meaning to say is that you won't find many developers these days that do not have some form of microtrans in their games.

I hadn't meant that Epic put BL2 out but apparently my autocorrect shorted that sentence. I have since forgotten what I was trying to say there but my point was pretty much all AAA titles have the same formula. UbiSoft does it. EA does it. R* does it. 2K does it.

The microtrans argument falls into the Gaming Media political narrative for me. I can take it or I can leave it. If I don't want to purchase skins, I will simply leave them be. Just like games pushing a Liberally biased agenda.

Sorry for the confusion.

skupples correct, they were social media give away items, and this is epic's first time dealing with the series.

Say what now? You didn't purchase Golden Keys. Gearbox would tweet out Shift codes that you enter and that gave you things like golden keys and skins. There were micro-transactions for extra characters and skins, but nothing that affected the actual in-game progress.

skupples valid point.

you're correct, this is their first time touching on the series.

still wouldn't surprise me though

What's Epic?

Gearbox is the developer, 2K is the publisher. What makes you think Epic has any say on in-game content?

Am I missing something? What did Epic have to do with BL2?

I get that it's fashionable to hate on them, but do they have *any* connection with this game or prior games other than the limited-time exclusive store deal?

I dont believe they did. I never saw anywhere to purchase golden keys. They were always given away on twitter and such pretty much non-stop. I dont believe they can be called micro-transactions. BL3 will be the same way, golden chest with free keys given out for following their twitter and you dont buy any of them.

skupples i used the free keys, n went about my business. They threw more free keys, used those too, then went about my business.

my business = not buying stuff besides the game.

skupples yessir, Rage 2 was a good little gap filler. I didn't even know about the microtransaction system until after finishing it... with all skins, fully maxed. short came, 100% SP. you're an idiot if you needed to buy rage coins.

looking forward to replaying once all the DLCs drop.
