anti-clockwize So much negativity in this thread, people have been waiting for so long for another half life game and when 3 new games are announced, most people are unhappy.

Eventually when more powerful graphics cards with DP 2.0 hit the market and higher res, better contrast panels become available then I can see them coming out with a V2 headset.

That's really the only thing they can and should eventually improve.

The refresh rate, FOV, ergonomics, controllers and base stations all pretty much perfect other than the high cost.

Also maybe release something to drop in the FRUNK.

Cant wait to play!

I wouldn't say FOV is perfect. It's better than the Vive/Rift but it's still not perfect.

skupples lots of people want lots of things, but only one side ever makes noise in these situations. You only think that's what everyone wants because social media is designed to amplify REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, and take it to the top page for maximum click absorption.

luckily valve isn't as bound by the all mighty dollar as the other folks churning out the same stuff yearly, for the last 15 years. Thus they can go out on a limb & make this push. It' sucks, and its awesome all at the same time.

I'm sure this will be the re-opening of Valve's pandora's box. More than A single VR title will come.

That's great news no doubt. I'll definitely be checking out a let's play then.

Really wish Valve would re-visit that Source 2 'screenshot' of L4D3 and understand that's what people want.

In the CS community we'd been up until two weeks ago without an operation for two years. The matchmaking still sucks if you really want to play you are on ESEA or Faceit. 64 tick simply doesn't work for the level of precision Counter-Strike needs. You can't even hit certain smokes on 64 tick. It's absolutely ridiculous after all these years.

Like I hate to be that guy but all this announcement does is make me think valve is less and less in touch.

I mean back on the subject of CS. It's probably their most successful product right now and we are still stuck on an esports eco system that has NOWHERE near the amount of support DOTA 2 has simply because Gabe happens to play Dota and not CS.

It's just frustrating being a fan for me when I see where the resources are actually going.

AND this game looks awesome.

But I still don't see a headset that makes me think I have to have it and as cool as the game does look I don't have to have it either.

Give me a proper Half-Life 3. 20 hours long, AAA graphics all the old actors. I'll pay 200 dollars for a copy.

I'd imagine I'm not alone in this thinking.

That's not going to happen. Not even phones get new versions this quickly. The Index 1 isn't even available globally yet, only in 32 countries.

The Index is going to be around for 3 years minimum before they announce a successor. There's nothing really to improve it, at least not with current tech without it more than doubling the costs and therefore price.
