Yumyums That would be great to colonize other planets and spread the population better but what people dont want is to loose the freedom we have on earth of going outside in the sun versus being in space in a suit.. as much fun as that would for awhile. The whole idea of space colonies needs alot more development because I dont see it happening anytime soon

Why such a European-centric view? Other non-European countries were far more advanced than Europe at the time.

We're living arguably the most interesting age right now. We've begun to carefully analyze our world and figured out what works and what doesn't. It'd depends on our generation to realize if we can push into a new frontier.
