You going to dig up every thread you can find comparing SB to other cpus to get all excited that SB can beat a more expensive cpu at gaming?

With normal cooling, if you don't use any apps that take advantage of the extra cores/threads, SB comes out ahead. If you can use the extra threads, SB gets stomped on.

That owns!
For i-don`t-know-what-app might 2600k be better but for real tasks like rendering both at the same GHz who in the world would think that SB wins???
I saw a vid of a mac pro with 2x6cores doing a cinebench --> OMG!

But being sensible in all this your not going to see much difference in real world application until programmers better utilize multi core/threaded CPUs. I still have a Core2 Q9550 @ 4GHz and playing games I can see little difference over my 980x as they are so GPU intensive.
Agree, so far it's only benchmarks where the difference is seen, and that's only about e-peen size

USFORCES Darn this really sucks, too bad I only upgrade every few years guess I'll have to keep getting my money out of this 980 because my next stop is isn't until 2012-2013 when 22nm comes out

The fact that this thread even exists is an enbaresment to the site.

980x will decimate this mainstreme platform everyday of the week and twice on Sundays

This statment is not saying anything bad about SB. it simply is out of it's league.

try this going quad to quad and it might even be readable
