And here is what I use it for

Sooo pretty

loki_reborn Yup, I can now play with the settings pretty much maxed across three screens and not drop below 40fps playing mechwarrior now.

This makes me a happy bunny.

BallaTheFeared min fps, which is usually the sign of a slow cpu with poorly performing nb actually...

.9 isn't really a unit of measurement, why stretch for it? Sub 30 fps isn't even playable, what does it matter?

Hey guys I can cause my gpus to perform so badly due to high load that the cpu doesn't matter anymore!!! lol.

Whatever floats your boat. He should have run Crysis 1, so we could see his fps go from 42 to 70+ with a simple cpu swap.

All he was doing was testing the power of the cpu..

Quote:
Death Valley Empty Server CCC Level 4+ and then everything turned to low in-game. Physics set to core 1. Resolution at 1920x1080
And he already stated that the AMD system played it fine, he was just looking for more since the AMD system was causing him to get half gpu usage. You should argue that CF is pointless, or that spending more than $50 for a gpu in that game is pointless, you really shouldn't try to defend AMD though since the entire point was the power of each CPU.

The point here is that SB is 2 - 3 times faster than Phenom II, core for core, clock for clock.

The End.

I'm a surprised there was ANY gain at all at that res with two 5870s.

Whats even more impressive, is the min fps gain @ 1080p in Heaven... 62 fps min vs 13 fps?

Yeah, give me some of that. From a choppy and unplayable experience, to butter smooth 60+ min? What else actually matters? Avg doesn't matter. Max? Who really cares if you get 200, or 240, you can't see it.

13 vs 62 min is huge, no matter what else happens that alone warrants a cpu switch. The more important fact of the matter is that at high res its 100% gpu bound, and getting unplayable fps, a new cpu doesn't help that.

min fps, which is usually driver related. He actually LOST avg fps from AMD in the Heaven bench. And it's DX10.Otherwise he went from 230 FPS to 600 in MWLL-which is useless.Whatever floats your boat.

2600k is the better cpu no doubt

Your missing the point.

In GPU bound games I was getting fine performance out of the 1055t. In CPU intensive games my cards were being crippled. Look at the FPS increase while I am playing MWLL.

BallaTheFeared Last I saw grunion had his 5870s over 40k, pretty close to 41k in Vantage.

Time for a gpu upgrade OP, perhaps a 5970 off the for sale section for quad SLI?

You now have the power for moar power (and it seems you could use it in eye infinity!)!!

Lol, doh.gif I think i get donkey of the week. Wow! I have been on futuremark website freaking out last 15 min and just because i misread! Thanks. And congrads on the performance!

I was seeing 36-38K on crossfired 5870's with the 1090T as well, but at 5.0-5.3ghz! We all know thats not possible on air, and/or water on a 1090T.
