destro777 what about an i3 -2130? are there any 2 core 1156 chips that overlcock or turbo boost at all?

i guess i could do a mild overclock if needed, it's just that i basically fried my 970 from a year or so of overvolting. it's stable at stock but wont overlcock anymore.

i want to keep this cheep enough that i can sell my 970, mobo and old mems to pay more almost all of new parts. (I figure i can sell the old parts for 60% of what new egg is currently charging)

destro777 whats the current fasted non overclocked cpu for single threaded operations?

i need a new pc to play hearts of iron 3 faster. it uses at most 2 cores and a TON on memory, but it can't allocate much memory i dont think. so bandwidth is utmost important.

currently using an i7 970 and it is very sluggish.

thanks for the help
