rwchui Thanks for all the recommendation!

I went ahead and brought home the BenQ XL2420T yesterday!!

The jump in smoothness in games like BF3 is HUGE.

Thanks everyone!!

vikingsteve I have a 120Hz ASUS VG236H. I love it. I kid you not, when you go to 120Hz, it is a huge difference from 60Hz. I thought it would be nice, but it blew me away. I sat in HL2 and just traced my view in circles for about 5 solid minutes, smiling with glee. Get the 120Hz.... unless you absolutely need color accuracy. The only thing I regret about buying this ASUS is that black levels aren't very good, but that's a TN panel for you.

saucon i just got a xl2420XT today... i've never said "oh my god..." more times opening and using a new peice of hardware before.

I came from a 21.5 non-LED backlit LCD monitor (60hz)... and i was blown away.

the monitor is beautiful, very thin bezel (the menu is a billion times easier, they're non-dedicated touch buttons, if that makes any sense). the stand is something i felt like i should have paid a lot for separately, it adjusts height, pitch, tilt, rotation extremely easily..

I don't have the other monitor you're looking at, but all i can do is vouch for the excellence of the xl2420. and right now you can get it off benq.com for pretty cheap, especially if you find the 10% coupon floating around the forums here.

fatlardo 120hz is good for fps and racing games, so get that if you play those most.

ZealotKi11er Trust me and get the Dell. Benq is a amazing LCD but for the games you play Dell will make those games look much much better. 120Hz refresh rate will not help in RPG games or SC2.

LukaTCE Get Benq

Edit: IPS is bad for games becouse of their true colours at dark is everyting dark and and u won't see anythink white is too much white and also sun especially it getting anoying in BC2 and BF3 BF3 have too much bright suns and sunshine and ground reflection

j0zef Personally, I'd get the BenQ. You have a good video card and should have no problems keeping 120 fps in games, so you'll see the benefits of 120 hz monitor. And you seem to really like the idea.

Also, instead of dropping $650 on that Dell, look into getting one of the Korean S-IPS monitors. Vast majority of people are having great experiences with them (ie no problems), and they're going for ~$400 including shipping. You can get a BenQ AND a 27" 1440p IPS for ~$750.
