There shouldn't be any need. When you're freezing the chip, the cold transfers through the board and cools the VRM's from the PCB. (This isn't how it actually works--cold doesn't transfer, only heat. The heat is drawn away from the VRM's to the places on the board around the CPU with lower temperatures). |

I'm thinking of freezing me VRM in a biostar TA990FXE while doing some DICE runs. Do anyone think it is a good idea to do it with proper insutation? |
