camoway Just FYI boys and girls, 2019 and I can't use anything else. I love the 120hz 1080 3ft away from my face. I wish it was 4k but that IS DOABLE once I get some cash as I OVer over over spent 6 grand on the desktop. Wondering friends what did you move on too? what did you buy after this? I need 40inchs hdr 120hz 4k. but such a thing is not real yet.

It also enables 1080p 240Hz. With no frame skipping of course.

$390 for the upgrade kit for the SE39UY04 monitor.

wow.. I would have no idea how to set that up, but I'd pay somebody $100 just to install that stuff for me if I could

HappyHimitsu Honestly, 1440p doesn't scale worth beans on this monitor anyhow. You are better off using either 1080 or 4k.

keebster I'm having issues getting the 2560x1440

I installed the 50 firmware and have been using the 1920x1080 120hz without issues but for some reason I cant get 2560x1440

TheBladeRoden It's not quite the same model, but does anyone know if there were firmware updates that work with the Seiki se26hy10?

Volodath Yea I'll be fine at 96. Still working on it, W10 is finicky.

jdorje Both amd and nvidia should work fine. The trick is to find the firmware that will scale it the way you want to put the borders on the side.

[email protected] is really pushing the limits of hdmi1.4. In that sense nvidia may work better as the 900 series has hdmi2 so you're "only" overclocking the monitor's port, but the 1000/400 series should both be fine with hdmi2 so no difference on new cards.

FWIW I was doing [email protected] Though I'm pretty sure I could run ~96 hz at that resolution.

Volodath Actually I found the thread! I had to improve my google skills, but this is where I originally found it - https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/44n09f/monitortv_seiki_se39uy04_39_4k_120hz_ledlcd_hdtv/czrc855/. Apparently nVidia is more successful, now to try it!

jdorje Don't think so.

I ran it at 2560x1080 briefly. On the desktop though I couldn't get ir to.stop doing gpu scaling, so it did have the black bars but it was also sending a 30 hz signal to the monitor. In games it would actually do the ultra wide resolution, but the monitor scaler filled the screen with it. I looked around for a monitor setting to avoid that and do the black bars, but I don't think there is anything.

Also it crashed my drivers a bunch of times in trying this out.
