FPS decrease after recent windows update. I used nvflash-certification bypassed. (nvflash645.218) EVGA970 SSC 2.0+ 1. At first befor windows update I flashed with a few factory default rom from 'techpowerup', and UEFI GOP updated bios using 'GOPupd' from (https://www.win-raid.com/t892f16-AMD...ts-DIY-49.html) Making UEFI GOP updated rom is very simple, just drag .rom file on .bat file of 'GOPupd' program folder. 2. and I tryed modded bios called 'EVGA_GTX970_SSC_ACX2.0_1.275v_290w_1557Mhz'. 3. at MSI afterburner ,I only set temperature limit around 75C, and fan seed 100% on 70C. 4. and run 'X-plane 11' with zibo 4k 737 airplane with highst graphic option. 5. I have got huge FPS increse about 2X (before 8 fps, after 19 fps, at cockpit) 6. If I set graphic option max, only except 'visual effect' set to medium, I have got 30 fps around. That was great!!! And all windows program is very smooth and fast. BUT soon after that , windows updated happened forced. And every thing is gone. every thing is back to before. I tryed all again but I cannot get that FPS again. They (MS and nvidia) made it worse, through windows update. And I tryed more thorough process. 1. I disabled display adapter at 'windows device manager'. 2. DDU with safe mode. 3. Normal boot and the automatic driver installation happens, open 'task manager'as soon as possible and monitored process of nvidia and open file location of the process and rename it all and then killed the processes. 4. x-plane run smooth again but cannot get that high FPS. I found out that when automatic driver installation happens, they (windows, nvidia, ms) reflash vBIOS again with some other one partially very quickly. What I want to say is We have to protect our vBIOS from forced refresh. I think there are some ways. 1. replace EEPROM with reattachable socket and replace EEPROM with ROM. 2. short no.3 pin of EEPROM (write protect pin) to lower voltage , not to reflash EEPROM. 3. Let window and nvidia install program have refresh job done signal, while actually not freshing EEPROM. I am not expert about it, but This is what I found. And Important thing is keeping computer clean as much as possible. Windows should be booted 'secure boot' and every other boot device should be diabled from boot except windows booting media. Run 'tron script' to erase every malware possible that is implemented already. And using decent keyboard and mouse, because usb device can hack computer and that is not rare at all. Never use cheap chinese keyboard and mouse. There are some many things to do , to do secure boot properly. I hope we can get what our gpu have all, without being cheated by ms, nvidia, and other coin mining malwares. |

Maybe it is dumb but maybe there is a possibility to trick nvflash for Pascal? Idea: if nvflash check first certs, than maybe if we modifiy nvflash in a way it will pause after checks and will ask one more time for flash confirmation with original signed VBIOS than we can swap a file to the modified one (the same naming) and we could flash modded because nvflash will remember that the certs were already signed and ok? Maybe its dumb idea but who knows ![]() |
