Smoked for nearly 20 years. Vaping is a great alternative. And hey, it stopped me from smoking at all, quit about a year and a half ago.

No room at all on the left side where my case is to turn the speakers at all. Sounds good where they are.

taowulf It has been a busy couple of months. My contract that was supposed to run to the end of October was abruptly terminated two weeks ago, and I found out today that it might resume in the next 2-4 months, but no telling what will happen now. Well, back to the job search.

Of course, the best way to get over this set back is to do a little desk modification, and as the Alesis Elevate 5 speakers I ordered a while back came in today, seemed like a perfect time to start the edge banding as I had to cut down the monitor stand a little and decided to make some platforms for the speakers to sit on.

A pic of the whole desk, still organizing some things, but I have cleared the counter behind me pretty much and this is as probably as pristine as my desk will ever be.

Left side from my point of view -

You can see the white edgebanding... I will work on the lower sections of the desk later.

And the right side -

taowulf Well, quite a bit more done today, was able to pick up a 6 foot piece of trim to use as a shim, then trimmed the side pieces up to get them to fit...Had to lose a 1/4 of an inch on 5 seperate pieces.

Really pissed that I knocked a little of the veneer off of the desktop on such an obvious corner...but I was having issues manhandling some of the pieces the last two days.

Working on fitting the side pieces...

Hours later, some swearing and in need of painkillers, here is how things are pretty much right now. I still have a ton of organizing to do and to figure out if I am going to put shelves in the side sections next weekend or find some other organizing option.

Also added a LED light underneath the center section of the monitor stand.

Oh, I will probably add the white trim I picked up next weekend. Need to locate an iron for it. smile.gif

taowulf I didn't make much progress today. I realized that the pieces where the seats cushions used to be are 1/4 of an inch lower in the rear than the front. Thanks, Fleetwood!

So tomorrow, er...today I will pick up some 1/4 inch trim pieces to use as shims, then I will be off to the races again and should be able to complete everything. Step one will be complete and I will be able to move on to my next project which is replacing horrible soft tubing with hardline. That probably won't be until late June or July.
