jonathan1107 I noticed the following when it comes to gaming with Nvidia 3d vision:

A) 3d vision seems to work better with vsync enabled as it seems to stabilize Frame Times (ms)
B) oddly, it seems that enabling vsync maxes the frames per second PER eye to 60fps even though my monitor is a 144hz monitor (it can even OC to 180hz)
C) Even if I'm not using 2 GPUs (sli) some games seem to still have some stutter... even with perfectly stable frame time at a solid 60fps rate... the only thing I haven't tried yet is tripple buffering here just in case. Otherwise I'm not sure what else to try lol
D) Also noticed that capping the FPS at 60fps instead of unlimited improves smoothness of the game a bit. As it keeps the fps around 59.9 with a solid 16ms frame time.
E) What do you guys do for v-sync when it comes to nvidia 3d vision? Do you set it "on" or adaptive? My monitor is g-sync capable but as far as I know, Nvidia's promise of g-sync and 3d combined never came to fruition correct?

If you have any thought/advice/tricks regarding nvidia 3d vision and overall game performance/smoothness tips. feel free to throw em at me wink.gif

1, and only 1, stands out for me: The StarVR....Seems like the be-all, end-all VR Headset (at-least with first gens). Wow!!!

spin5000 The horizontal FOV of the Vive is crap and only a bit better than the Rift. Can't touch triples, yet. I'm assuming the 2nd gen (eg. Rift "CV2") will have much better horizontal FOV, that's when I'll definitely jump on board. For now, 3x 1440p, 27", thin-bezel, 3D monitors + TrackIR will do smile.gif

It has been really fun so far. The 3D effect is perfect and very natural with one screen in front of each eye. The initial wow factor when you first try out the Vive is pretty mind blowing, because there has been nothing like it before. I do agree we need AAA VR titles, 99.9% of the Vive games are Indie. Horror games in the Vive are the best as it's all around you in VR and feels like there is no escape. Definitely makes grown men weep lol.

for non Space stuff, Fallout 3 and 4 works great, as other mentioned already the 2 newer Tom Raiders.. is great, is like watching a movie. Deux EX, Remember Me, Defiance, Max Payne 3, Pax of Exile, Mirror Edge, Shroud of the Avatar, Sleeping Dogs, Torch light series, the newer Xcom series.

Pretty much every game I've thrown at it, it is able to properly get that 3D depth feeling

but again, the best ones are still the simulation type of games, the rest are just meh, simple map level depth feel, or pop up user interface of in-game menus stuff


Quite frankly with the re-birth of new generation of VR, even if nvidia 3D is supported out of the box, more and more game will become VR based

VR is true 3D, true depth feel.... just annoyingly inconvenient with the headset.

I got the HTC Vive love it, but hate it at the same time, damn cable keep tripping over it. LOL biggrin.gif

while HTC controllers are better than Oculus Rift... both are still far from being "natural"

both of them should use some sort of GLOVES, to make gestures, driving, flying, pointing, grabbing stuff more natural

There are no decent VR games yet, they are all in experimental and fun stage.

The only one that is closest to a Decent game in VR is Elite Dangerous, there was another space ship flying game, but I forgot the name, that one is also "OK"
