Benny89 So Kaby Lake alone with build-in GPU will be able to handle 4K Videos easy? I want to spend as few bucks as possible on it so that would be great option!

Any opinion which Kaby Lake I should get for it? i3 will be enough?

What PSU would you recommend for sucj set up? 320-360 W would be enough?

Looks like for now the nvidia shield makes a really good HTPC but nearly all options have drawbacks. It is being suggested to wait for the Kaby Lake NUCs as they will have all the hardware decoding necessary with guaranteed long term software support (which seems to be one of the big drawbacks of the other options).

but that's just what i got out of that thread quickly skimming through.

Yeah. Kaby Lake can even hardware decode 4k/10 bit VP9, which is awesome for YouTube.

brucethemoose FYI the case you picked is mini ITX, not micro ATX. It's a good case though. Personally I prefer the styling of the ML07, which is basically the same case.

Ideally, you want something that can play back 4k HEVC video without using the CPU. That means a Skylake CPU (or better yet, Kaby Lake if you can wait), or a Polaris or Pascal GPU.

Benny89 Hello,

I wanna buy and build micro ATX based PC so I can plug it into my 4K TV as sort of home video centre.

All it has to do is web/YT browsing and be able to watch 4K Video. NO GAMING on this PC. Just videos.

Can anyone help me build it? I don't want to pay too much for it but since I have never build something like that I am clueless here.

Requirements:
- 4K Video capable
- SSD
- Case: SilverStone SST-RVZ02B (but if you really recommend something else- hit me with it).
