I think what sets apart OCN from other teams is we have users here that actually care about performance and power optimization (whether is the app settings , undervolting, etc). Some other teams just have pure member numbers.
Team description off [email protected] , emphasis on the underlined:
Come join the Official Overclock.net team. We overclock responsibly and contribute crazy amounts of processing power. We know our hardware in and out, and wanted to give back and share! All projects welcome....
It is a shame to have all this power and not put it to good use. That's why you should join our team!

|WhiteWulfe||Unsurprisingly, that's one of the first things I do when I get home from work, and even wake up... Check on the status on my rig and phones, and then WUProp ^_^;;;;|

|mmonnin||I came back home after being gone a week. About the 1st thing I checked on is my BOINC rigs. Priorities!|

Like k4m1k4z3 said, our portion of the forums here are relatively active, and as a team we work together for a wide variety of goals.
As for challenges, alongside our Projects of the Month (projects we set as a team focus/goal to improve our overall ranking in, of which our team leads/BOINC editors are always taking suggestions for - we pick two CPU, and one GPU project every month), BOINCers Gone Bonkers (a monthly three day event), we also participate in Formula BOINC (where we're currently first in League 2, and have scored impressively in the first two sprints as well (2nd place for 1st round, 1st place for 2nd round - next sprint starts in a day or two).
Oh right, we also give our [email protected] peers help with their Foldathons, with the next one being scheduled for April 17th-19th. Last month we put out an impressive 176 million points in [email protected] in 48 hours ^_^
We also have a budget server club, as well as a thread for showing off one's BOINC rig(s)
I'd say we're a fairly active team with members who are more than willing to help each other out, as well as help science (of any kind) move forwards ^_^

Yes we are active. We participate in various challenges and competitions. We have the BOINC Pentathlon coming up which I am sure we will participate in. Also we try to stay competitive in the Formula BOINC competitions. Also monthly team events where we fire up all rigs regardless of how hot it is
There is often conversation on the forums here about project support, or the all the new BOINC rigs we are building, etc...

I'm thinking of finding a new team since the one I've been in for the last decade so is an organization I really have nothing to do with (a university that's not my alma mater). Kinda looking for a new team to maybe talk nerdy with now and again and maybe participate in some of the friendly competitions that go on now and again.
Some of my fun stats:
Highest World position ever 11,422 at 2016-01-02
Contribution to BOINC combined total credit 0.00010%
Contribution to BOINC combined total RAC 0.00004%
Accumulated more credit than % of all BOINC combined Users 99.71782%
So... yeah. I have high power bills / my place gets warm in the summer.
Please lemme know if the team is active / are participating in any of the fun challenges any time soon!
