jla_v Hello, I'm new to oc.net and made an account just to revive this old thread.

Going to be looking into modding my 970 sc acx 2.0(same as flexy I believe).

Just wondering if anyone who has modded this card is still around and checks or because of this post sees this thread.

If so, would be nice to know if help is around. Cheers and thanks for tinkering with your equipment so I can reap the benefits ^_^

Ingisnickers Thank you so much for this thread! Finally running Ghost Recon Wildlands stable at 1.119 V (according to AB) with 1506.5 core and 4000 mem on a 970 Strix 🙂

n1kobg Guys I have a question. After I flashed my bios on my GTX970 and achieved the best reasults of core clock and ram CAN I DO SOMEWTHING ELSE TO BOOST THE PERFORMANCE ????
I use it for competetive gaming & need the best i can get. For example to up thew l2c GPC ? What are the safe numbers. If I make TDP base clock to Boost clock number (mine is 1531.5mhz) am I going to perform better. If i use Kboost feature on EVGA or 3D mode on ASUS, although my core clock "line" is flat in Afterburner. Give me suggestions please. The card is unlocked. It has Power Cap in Valley benchmark but in BF4 is good.I cant go higher on Power delivery because i have 2 6 pins.

The screen shows 1605mhz but it crashes. i give a link to the BIOS i edited:

Check out Laithan's modded bios thread , he is very knowledgeable and helpful , I am using his Modded bios currently on my G1 970GTX.

Before, when I was testing stable overclock, I unlocked voltage control (basic setting, didn't change any other voltage related setting) in ab settings, and for testing purposes put it to the max of + 87mv, if I remember correctly. The thing is, I could achive +180 on core, and it would be stable at Heaven and Valley benchmarks for 10 strait, but it would produce random, and rare freezes/crashes in demanding games...

You think it's better to just oc through AB, then through bios mod?

Is your oc stable no matter which driver version you use?

Well, a few things here so I'll break them out.

Voltage
: If I put my voltage slider to max of 87mv the highest voltage my card gets is still 1243mv - I think this may be a bios thing. I'm happy with the performance and I have a top-mount radiator so the heat would just be another issue to deal with.

Stability in Games
: I fold and game regularly. Some games I can run a higher OC for, and folding is always a lower OC. I use the profiles in AB to create a few common ones with different clocks and fan profiles according to the intended uses. Its actually pretty slick, although its pretty easy to pick an OC that's 100% stable and run it all the time as well. I tend to use 3 profiles: 2 are the same clocks with different fan profiles for gaming and regular quieter use, and then the third is lowered to ensure no issues with bad WU's from [email protected]

Drivers: Nvidia pushes drivers like those kiosks at the mall selling prepaid cell phones ... I run 372.70 because anything newer won't work with Folding @ Home. I have no issues with that driver at all, in any games or applications. I suggest something in the 372-373 range because those in the [email protected] communities have suggested them to me. They're from August of this year too, so you can rest assured your monitor won't go all 4:3 Black & White or anything either biggrin.gif
