Great build! Wonderful! Why you didn't paint the copper color element on the backplate ? |

Changed my water once again today. Thinking about moving the CPU to a 2990WX. It would cost a little single thread performance but I feel like I would rather support AMD's business model than Intel's. A 9980XE is too similar to what I've already got and I might gain 200 MHz from solder. The W-3175X is MIA for now, four grand, may not even be soldered, and the power consumption on my 18 cores is already frightening, let alone 28. With that much heat I don't think I could get much above 4.3-4.4 using "normal" water cooling. So not hugely motivated to update the CPU, but thinking about it. As for the GPUs, the Titan RTXs are tempting, but there is no waterblocked version yet and I'm too lazy to put sticky tape on all the memory things lol. Plus I'm not sure I want to support Nvidia's business model as the prices have jumped so rapidly. Even something little like the SLI (or NVLink) bridge not being free anymore, feels like a ripoff. Maybe I'll wait to see what AMD comes up with, hopefully soon. I may powder coat the case in the future and change the color scheme. I'm thinking a "blood and dirt" theme, with an earthy brown case, clear tubing, and blood red coolant. |

Hydroplane | An update to my computer, I changed out the water last weekend, and replaced the GPU connection with a proper fitting. I also added a 90 degree fitting to the 2nd GPU outlet which makes the tubing easier to deal with. Surprisingly little dust after 6 months, much less than my old air cooled rig. Running the fans at 800 rpm probably helps. I tossed the anticyclone, it wouldn't stay put in the res and looked like a sponge floating around. So far, hasn't had an effect on temps. This loop is overkill even for a pair of 1080 Tis and a 7980XE! I run out of heat transfer through the CPU thermal paste long before I run out of rad or fan. |

I went ahead and finished up the wiring. Used some butt splices to make an extra long power button: Cables managed: Invisible from the front, well except for the monster VGA cables ![]() I put the sides on and everything is done! Looks great ![]() |

Amazing work here! ![]() What can you tell me about this LD case? What about the build quality? Thanks a lot ![]() |

Thanks, it's almost there, just needs a little more wiring... and overclocking ![]() |
