Lol yea, for all our advancements in computing power stuff ends up loading slower as we add more bloat to it.
Literally loading 15 discussion groups on my 56k with an IBM Aptiva was faster than my internet connection now with the computer I have in my sig.

Take a trip down memory lane and recall in a bit more detail.. they're getting slower and slower (taking longer to open, occasionally not as 'snappy'/responsive, odd semi-"hangs", footprint, etc. etc.).
Lest one compiles one on their own, with all the bloatware and "ease of use"/"QoL" left out?
For all the advancement in the last two decades, the empirical result? Outcome? Is one of regression.
/que all the people using 284645262819 addons, "needing" them integrated, all in one package and having 585625412 tabs open (or expect to be able to) disagreeing fervently.
Speed and bandwidth should not be confused with browser performance.

Price for browser speed

Now if only I could get an answer as to why browsers use so much ram and help fix that
edit: an analogy to this is loaded textures on the GPU's VRAM, most games now a days keeps a set so that they can minimize load time.
you can configure it in a way that it won't preload or cache anything to RAM, at the cost of fetching all the data from the server every time it loads.

If you use the last post I made and update it every week or month no need to worry.
UBlock Origin browser add-on make it as easy as it gets for other stuff.

If you come across a bitcoin mining script would the CPU usage or GPU usage go up considerably and obviously?
There are Monero ones, and its your CPU usage that will increase. Considerably? Depends on how much the website has put as CPU usage limit. It could be 1%, it could be 50% of your CPU power.

For those saying No Script is hard, really try using it for a few months.
There's nothing hard about it. Some people just don't care enough yet. Like you said, though, I wouldn't browse again without it.

|xJumper||Using AppArmor with a very restrictive Firefox profile to sandbox it from many of these types of attacks, always using No Script as well. For those saying No Script is hard, really try using it for a few months. The more you use it and the more good sites you white list, the easier to gets. Eventually you might only be clicking one or two things per browsing session and 99% of everything else is blocked. I couldn't even imagine using the web without No Script.|
