miklkit Dunno if this is related or not as I'm just a simple end user, but last night suddenly Firefox quit blocking ads, which makes it hard for me to actually read anything. A check said they are no longer compatible and all downloads were blocked. So a search for a non browser based adblocker ensued. I'm currently using -------- which seems to be working so far.

ThrashZone Hi,
Host file applies to all browsers no addons needed although ublock origin is a must have no matter

Except for edge it was said it ignores the host file at one time.

lots of websites are allergic to adblock, and recently even noscript.

of course you could just evade those sites, but then why not evade sites with crypto miners in it?

*Edit: If i may ask a related question, is there any downside to having multiple same entries in the hosts file? Asking because so far i've got my own list (which includes everything the 'ready-made' ones don't have), the windows/microsoft-related list and a general hosts file list, which is huge. Using Ctrl+F to search if a new entry already exists is fine, but when a new.. new.. list is to be added with 294746528 new entries, that's a bit too much for me to check.
Just drop the list into a column in excel and use the Remove Duplicates feature in excel to clean up the repeated entries

ThrashZone Hi,
Yes they always take down links because they update them

The site in general is pretty weird there are a few lists guys on tenforums simplifies finding the text links otherwise I'd be lost too
Cheers.
