But no 120mm, again. Which is what's needed for GPUs.

7 with large blades is more of a pressure design indeed than more blades with lower area per fin.
The PH-F120MP is same fan. Sometimes in different colors, sometimes with rubber pads on corners, but it's the 120mm version of PH-F140HP_II fan.

People, don't be fooled by free airflow specifications. It is the airflow of a fan suspended in open space, not something we use our fans for. Free airflow specs mean nothing in environments like ours where there is resistance to airflow. Fans with higher static pressure ratings move a lot more air when encountering the restrictions in our cases .. like grills, filters, cables, etc.

HeroofTime Wow, awesome! That's good to know I ended up with a solid fan setup then.

I emailed Phanteks to get these fans separately from the cooler (just a heads up to anyone who wants a set of them without getting the heat sink). I did become slightly disappointed to find out I got the second revision of the fans (for the sake of having the GPU and CPU fans match perfectly). As described on their website, I have the PH-F140HP fans on my CPU cooler. They no longer have these fans, and have been making PH-F140HP II fans instead for a while now. I ordered directly through them thinking I was going to get the PH-F120HP fans, but instead ended up with the PH-F120HP II fans. It doesn't bother me anymore because this is the closest match I would end up with regardless. Simply put, the first revision of the PH-F120HP fans aren't being made anymore. The following is their email response to me. They were very helpful, straightforward, and the shipment to me was quick after I sent the payment through.

Me: "Hello,

I received the fans today. Thank you for shipping them to me.

I do have one quirk about the fans. The current triple fan setup on my CPU cooler is with the original PH-F140HP model (not the second series). The fans that I expected to be shipped to me was the original PH-F120HP model as described (not the second series). I was hoping all of my fans would match but this is not the case any longer. Do you still sell the original model of the PH-F120HP fan? I have two photos that depict the differences (one from Phanteks website and the other being the ones shipped to me). Thanks."

Phanteks Support: "All the fans we are using are 7 blades instead of 9 blades any more cause 7 blades fans has high static pressure and less issues."

Yeah, I know. Phanteks seems to never update changes in cooler fans or case fans in website images. They changed the fans on PH-TC14PE to PH-F140HP_BK2 and PH-F140PH_WT2 which have MP impeller, but cooler images still have older fan impeller in them.

Here is link to Cooling Technique review of newest release of TC12LS-PH and PH-TC14S coolers with 7 blade MP impeller fan.

As for PH-TC12DX, here is video review done April 2016 with fans having MP impellers.

So, 3 or 4 years ago Phanteks changed their 120mm cooler fans to fans with 120mm MP impeller.

doyll You have what many of us consider the best 120mm fan Phanteks makes.
PH-F120HP and PH-F120MP both use same motor and impeller, so basically are same fan with different model number on them.

HeroofTime Interesting. By those stats, are the fans that I have more efficient than the PH-F120MPs at the same speed? I'm just curious. In the end, I really don't mind either way because these fans are all white like my CPU fans are. Attached is a photo of my system currently.

doyll PH-F120HP (As you know) only come on coolers. I prefer PH-F120MP which has 1.72mm H2O and 53.3cfm @ 1800rpm compared to HP having 1.29mm H2O and 54.4cfm @ 1300rpm. The airflow specs somewhat kinda misleading because the MP's higher pressure rating means more airflow against resistance while their free airflow rating is a little lower than HP, but we rarely if ever us a fan in in situations there is no resistance, so the 1.72mm H2O vs 1.29mm H2O is means much more than airflow.

HeroofTime For sure! Always glad to share what I've come up with. I'm very happy with the fans. They get the job done very well and quietly. Again, I'll be back to share my full experience at another point in time with photos.

doyll Thanks HeroofTime for posting your results.
So, are you happy with your two white Phanteks PH-F120HP fans on cooler?
