André GM New Samsung 4k TVs NU8000, Q6F, Q7F and Q8F can run 1440p 120hz thought HDMI 2.0

120hz its a new function of the last Xbox One X upgrade.

1440p on a 4K panel would look terrible anyway.
Wouldn't it just look like a 1440p panel? I'd have thought so anyway.

Either way the few 60hz panels that can OC to 120+ are built to do so and I really don't think those are available anymore since there are so many that do 144hz from the factory.
That being said I really don't see anyone getting a 60hz 4k panel to 120hz let alone 144hz without at least some serious image quality issues.
If you have a 120hz 4k TV you can sometimes run them at 1080p/120hz if the TV has the right options in the OSD, higher res would be possible if not limited by current HDMI.

Some panels will lock you out from even trying to OC it by saying "out of range" like mine did.

BTW My IPS 1440p/144hz Freesync panel cost me about $330 iirc, it's a Nixeus EDG and they seem to have the best CQ in the business as most of the reviews I've read and people I've spoken with said they had great panels with very minimal glowing or bleeding. My panel has less glow than many of the more expensive ones I've seen reviewed.

André GM its a great choice cause this LG 4k monitor is much cheaper than most 1440p 144hz monitors, and its a IPS panel (wich looks greats), also would be great to have 4k 60hz for movies and 1440p at 144hz for gaming on the same monitor, its like having the best of 2 worlds !

The Pook Because it's a 60hz 4K panel? Where in the specs does it say "1440p 144hz" ?

LG IPS 4k Monitor overclock to 1440p 144hz

LG 27UD59 supports 1440p at 144hz but a message shows up in the screen (out of range), any suggestions about how to hide it ?
