AlphaC There's not a huge reason to buy a i5-8400 (max boost 4GHz) as overclocked the i5-3570K is relatively close in single-threaded performance. You're much better off with a Ryzen 5 2600 or an unlocked i5-8600k/i5-9600K let alone a i7-8700k/i7-9700k.

Also if you go with a Ryzen CPU you will have an upgrade path.

The Pook depends on the games you play. grabbing a used 3770K would likely perform just as well and you won't lose half your RAM.

Would this be an upgrade for gaming?

So I found someone selling this bundle for 300 near me.

i5-8400 cpu @2.80GHz
8 gb DDR4 2460 MHz Crucial Ram
Asus Z370 Tuf Gaming MOBO

Is this worth it for me? is it even an upgrade from my signature rig? I dont really mess around with overclocking anymore
