They had bug by tuning fan curves. I tested with gpuz gpu test. It clocks on HBM and core are bugged. So switched to a 8.12 zero issues.

I tried. I cant get BF5 to launch. App keeps self-closing.

They haven't enabled MGPU yet, in similar fashion as when BF1 first came out (was finally added later). Looking forward to it because unlike BF1 DX12, BFV DX12 is a huge improvement in terms of smoothness & definitely the preferable performance mode vs DX11.

Neither did the 16GB Frontier or Vega at launch.

Nevertheless, you don't need crossfire for DX12 Multi-GPU, which more & more games are starting to add (:

In fact, the majority of games I'm playing right now are exclusively multi-gpu. With Battlefront II (was added later), SOTTR, GOW4 & SE4 mainly taking up my time ATM. Nearly 99% scaling @ 4K= amazeballs. Strange Brigade is next up on my list once a sale hits.

Can't wait to order my pair Thursday! So excited.

That's just great. So the 2019 series drivers can't tell the difference between air cooled or liquid cooled GPUs. The fans on my air cooled Vega 64 peak at 3400+rpm. I'll pass.

Also, could someone believable verify that please?

The same thing will eventually happen again. When a company says "not at the moment", it means, complain enough on Reddit and we'll enable DX11 & below profiles for crossfire on the VII. Otherwise you're left with Multi-GPU on newer games, which I'm 100% content with. The option of crossfire (in this case it originally showed multi-gpu as the option until it was changed a few drivers later to "crossfire") showed up no matter what w/ two cards at launch, which included when Vega didn't even have "supported" crossfire drivers. So it would link the cards as one (for DX12). It's whether AMD wants to allow the DX11 profiles to work on said cards. Otherwise your stuck with DX12 multi-gpu, which again I'm 100% content with. Shoot, we even got our first Vulkan Multi-GPU game this past year which coincidentally also has a DX12 Multi-GPU mode as well.

I'll post some benchmarks soon enough. Still deciding if I'm going to tear down my loop & run them on air temporarily, or wait for the first water blocks.

In fact, both Frontier & Vega offered crossfire enable options to link them together @ a hardware level for DX12 multi-gpu games at launch, it just didn't support actual crossfire profiles in games (which was why people complained).

You won't be able to use DirectX 12 mGPU in linked node mode.

Can you disable crossfire on your Vega 64s and see the scaling when they are separate?

Not a huge deal, already sent in a detailed error report to AMD. Probably just a isolated config setup issue which this driver doesn't like.

Edit: Nevertheless, these cards are getting pulled out for some VII's come Thursday! Woohooo.
The Vega VII doesn't have crossfire support.

One bit of bad news we have to share is that AMD told us that it currently has no plans to introduce CrossFire support on the Radeon VII. We can hardly blame AMD for not including it, as we can imagine it would be murder to get 32GB or more of video memory to work together nicely.
