nullrouteinroot BenQ (Zowie) XL2430 + RTX 2070. Same issue. I contacted BenQ support, but they just recommended doing an RMA in order to rewrite/update the firmware. So weird that this happens only on the DP.
Before the 2070 I had a 1060 but it was hooked up via DVI DUAL and I had no issues.

treetops422 I swept through the comments to tell you, unplug the power and the DP. I would hold down the power button for a min while disc. Screwing around with custom resolutions, I had to apply this very simple TS step while screwing around with custom resolutions.

JackCY Return/RMA or get it serviced by BenQ. Haven't heard about this yet but if it's a case where some BenQ monitors suffer from this problem it likely means they share the same input board with the same issue and BenQ likely bought a bulk of these with a firmware problem.

chrcoluk Hi guys, interesting thread.

It seems on the replies its almost all BenQ.

My monitor is a BenQ GW2765HT, I have had it for a while now. Its not a popular model, as it has no gsync.

Basically the issues I had from day 1 with my displayport is that if I turned the screen off using the power button on the monitor, and then turned it on again, I would have no signal.

This happens in every OS, and in the bios, so that rules out bad drivers etc.

If in windows I can recover it either by doing nvidia driver reload, so basically forcefully reloading the driver, or unplugging the DP cable from gpu and putting it back in again will bring it back to life.
In bios, I havent found a way to recover, its rebooting the PC.

Interestingly if I do one of the following, the problem does not occur.

If I let the monitor go into standby via the display timeout settings in windows, it can wake up fine.
If I let the monitor go into standby using the timeout setting on the monitor itself, it can wake up fine.
If I do either of the above, and then turn off the monitor with the power button whilst its in standby from the timeout, it will work when turning on with the power button, which is even more interesting.

If I go to the factory settings and toggle the DP hotplug detection thingy, it has no effect.

I remember when I initially google'd this problem there was at least one other BenQ monitor that had the same issue but was fixed with a firmware update, and now I am seeing more BenQ reports, I am wondering why BenQ with struggling with DP so much. Right now I have am using dvi-d which works fine as this problem is untenable.

For reference I have tried 3 different cables, and the problem has persisted on all 3 gpu's I have had since using this monitor, EVGA 970 FTW, Palit 1070 Gamerock Premium, Gigabyte 1080ti Auros.

NexTGenioN Same problem with BenQ XL2430T it works well on DVI-D + AMD RX 480 but after upgrade RTX 2060 Super + DisplayPort got the message "Out of Range!" it may sounds weird kuz it happens only on 1st boot after a couple of hours not booting pc...After restart is working fine.

Zeedi Same problem here! Currently own a BenQ XL2420Z. It works fine on DVI-D. Tested 2 different displayport cables (1.2 and 1.4) on 2 gpus (1070ti and rtx 2070) and still got the message Out of Range around 25% of the time. Any solutions out there?

Khalifa I'm having the same problem, all this came when i get a Rtx 2070, when i was using my old 980 ti on Dvi-D never had this issue, all the problems came when im starting using Displayport, my monitor its the Benq XL2420Z, i have tried everything, unplugging monitor from AC for 10 minutes, tried 3 or 4 Displayport cables, cleaned the ports, etc etc and nothing, problem its still there

Syncopated Considering should we be posting this issue in NVIDIA Thread or BENQ Zowie Thread so the engineers of the two firms can discuss the issue and fix them?

I have the exact same issue for months already !!
I use BENQ Zowie 144hz works perfectly with DVI port with ASUS GTX 1060 at 144hz refresh rate.
After change my GPU to ASUS RTX 2070 and use Display port cable instead (Because there is no DVI Port).
When I turn on my PC I got to see an asus motherboard running screen then after that either, "no signal" or "out of range" error.
This issue occurs at about 70% of the time.
I tried research this issue about a few months ago with no match but the closet issue got fixed by changing into a better cable. So I tried and didn't work.

If any of you know the fix please let me know.
