adversary I will open thread in watercooling to discuss my plan in every details before I start ordering parts.

But I can ask here one more question.

Any of you used this on your Gigabyte Aorus 1080 TI?

I can be sure it will fit my?

And somewhere I had read that "it doesn't have contact and cooling of everything which is needed, some of MOSFETs are left not in contact, or something like that". Is that true? I would like to cool every part which benefit from cooling. If EK block do not cool something, is that issue of just not using thermal pads at that place? If that is case can I on my own place additional thermal pads to cover parts I also like to cool?

In both you can see temps. Lower is always better for GPU OC.

At 4k resolution yeah I hit a power limit and it will throttle back to 2037MHz but I play at 1080p so that’s not a realistic resolution for me.

adversary Under heavy load, I doubt you can keep 1080 TI OCed (and even worse, if with XOC BIOS you bump voltage a little bit) at ambient temperatures. That would mean there is almost no difference between idle temperatures and load temperatures which would be impossible.

Chiller can go even lower. Have to pay attention how low you can go because of condensation.

Now, is I'm doing overkill for 1080 TI? Yes. But if I can pay that, why not. I plan to keep card for some more time as it is enough now for my needs. Would like to have superior cooling sistem for Nvidia 3000, I would later switch on that (especialy if they bring superior Nvenc encoder like they did with 2000 series). No rush, never buying tech when it is just released. After it matures, initial problems (2080TI had it, right?) resolved, others people expiriences of cards are there so I can decide which top model to pick, and maybe some refresh comes out.. that it is right time for me to upgrade. Until that, lets boost this 1080 TI to max power.

If it is better to open new thread about this in Watercooling, let me know.

But I would really like to hear everybody opinions.

As of a few months ago I am a “former Broadwell user” lol because my board finally kicked off, ended up jumping on the Ryzen train with X570/3900X because Z97 boards on the used market (at least here in the US) are going for stupid prices. And about the same time I was a former GTX 1080 user since I upgraded to a 1080 ti and gave my wife my 1080. But this should still apply because its still a Pascal based GPU.

If I remember correctly performancepcs I think has a EU branch, but I could be thinking of another company. But yeah that’s the only other one that I know of that would still have stock.

You won’t really need to go all out with a chiller, If you just have enough radiators it should be able to cool a 1080 down to near ambient on its own. Hell when I bought my 1080 ti Armor OC it was hitting 81C under load and I was considering water but for the time being ended up going with an Arctic Accelero III and worst case temps go up to 55C give or take, which is cool enough for me to sustain 2.1GHz without it dropping much below that.

I got a friend that could probably help you more with Pascal temps as he has a pretty overkill loop. @kithylin lend us your wisdom.

You might try performancepcs, i’ve had better luck with them sometimes.

TwilightRavens So I finally made the jump to a 1080 ti and its pretty awesome, even if I did get a "less than ideal" partner model version.

TwilightRavens Did a run on my new 3900X system and this thing is freaking awesome, (figured I'd run it with the 1080 because my 1080 ti shipping is delayed because of COVID-19 crap going on) but holy hell that physics score is absolutely mental.

AlbertoM Just a quick update.

After some time i realized that my FE 1080 with Palit BIOS is more stable gaming at 1.063v, and i'm pushing 2164MHz under water (hybrid EVGA kit), after it reachs the max at 60-63C it downclocks to 2138-2126MHz min. That temp is because i set my push/pull fans to very low speed around 1000rpm~1500rpm max.

I was testing from 1.075v to 1.081v and was having some ramdom crashes with both voltages at even lower clocks (screen freezing at ramdom color, typical of gpu crash). Then I decided to try 1.063v and been playing for like 6 months with the highest clock speed now without a single crash.

And as this Palit Bios (Gamerock Premium) is limited to 276W, i guess i have even more performance with lower voltage, as the current increases to reach the max power.

I think what they say its true for this card. Less voltage is always better if you can keep your temps on check.
