ezveedub Those temps aren’t right...I have the basically the same EVGA card and same waterblock, but I took it apart for air testing before running it with the waterblock, since I got it used. It had good contact with the GPU die when I took it apart and with the stock air cooler I never saw 70C ever, even over clocked. I assume you installed the bracket around the GPU and used the 4 screws without the springs from the stock air cooler right? Those are about the only different screws used from the stock air cooler that I saw.

Only time I've had bad contact was because I used the wrong screws
EK sends long a short screws and I used the long and they were bottoming out on the plexi holes

Used short ones and boom much better just didn't think they were long enough

Zfast4y0u flow rate is important too, its not same having pump running at 20% and 100% for example, temp differences can be as high as 10-20c

regarding bad contact, did u put correct thermal pad thickness in correct spots on gpu? btw, you complain about bad contact on gpu and high temps, and then give us cpu temps :/

EVGA copper waterblock not fully contacting EVGA RTX 2080?

Hey guys,

I bought 400-HC-1189-B1 waterblock for my 08G-P4-2182-KR GPU but it seems like the waterblock isn't making fully contact with the GPU chip. Is this normal? I've checked to make sure nothing is blocking the plate but it's just simply not making contact unless I put on excessive amounts of paste.

The card + my CPU seem to be running high temps on 2 360 radiators.

I'm hitting 70C-75C under heavy load/stress testing with 5 GHz 9700k @ 1.265v and my 2080 having a +75 core and +700 memory overclock with +30% power slider.

The temps don't change a whole lot whether fans are up to 100% or at 50%.

This is my first custom loop so maybe this is normal? Just feels like the temps aren't as low as I was expecting.
