I don't know if ASUS made the tool "public" by now, and I don't care anymore if they do. I got really tired with ASUS being so silent regarding this tool, FAQ got updated Nov. 2018 I believe. Plus the monitor scene seems very uninspiring to me recently. Sure, PG27UQX, I can see it but it's not enough reason for me to "upgrade". I don't understand the PG349Q release either in 2019, maybe I'm missing the point. I'm out for now in terms of monitors and will be back when OLEDs or equivalents see the light of the day.
glad someone was laying into them. no more buying electronics early. you get bent over, then the run around.

bmgjet My PG27UQ is a release day unit. Updated fine you have to follow the instructions to the letter as in disconnect all other screens. Make sure computers set to not put screen to sleep. Make screen run at 4K 60hz. Not touch computer as its updating.

I bet those techs, Let the screen go to sleep which bricked the firmware update. Then they are just blaming it on hardware problem.

Speezy Yeah okay well i was kinda pissed about it aswell waiting a year for the update and now the black crush is finally fixed but do you have any idea about why this new update wont allow reference white to be changed anymore in hdr? No idea if it's intentional or a bug.

Speezy why the firmware update hasn't been officially released yet? It's kinda weird that its only here because some guy got it from asus support.

skingun It will probably be more expensive. Micro LEDs in a gaming monitor is a first and products at the front line of innovation always attract a heavy surcharge.

saltedham thx for the heads up about the firmware bois.

animeowns I wonder if we will be able to use the firmware update once the new monitor releases they said it will still have the same black crush when using 144hz on the newer model I feel it should be priced exactly the same if they can't fix something like that on day one as the previous pg27uq or at least a little cheaper.

bmgjet Just finished firmware update.
Took 1 hour 3 mins.
Blacks look better at 144hz. Cant tell any other difference with anything else.
