GHADthc Noiseblocker PL-PS are my recommendation, easily on par with SW3 and Noctua in the noise department, I have three in my case atm, running at 12v (1500rpm, and I cannot even hear them), those and the Phobya 180mm 900rpm PWM fans are so quiet, that I can hear the coil whine of my GPU over the fans and airflow.

Melcar The MLs do have a slightly audible (and a bit annoying) hum when mounted on a heatsink, but you have to really listen for it (could be disruptive on a near silent rig). Neither my PH-120MPs or my Cougar Vortex fan have that hum.

JedixJarf Here's another vote for silent wings 3. Just make sure you create a gasket of sorts around the fans to seal the airflow in.

munternet I had some noctuas but returned them. They were ok when idling but too loud when working hard. Ended up with ek furious varders both 120's and 140's. I run them from 45% and up.
I would have bought the gentle typhoons if they were available.
Maybe I have been given the wrong Noctua fans from the shop (twice) but they said they were good and quiet and I found different at my heat levels so I won't be trying them again.

cerealkeller Corsair ML Fans (Magnetic Levitation). They’re awesome, but, expensive.

jura11 Hi there

Personally running 9*Phanteks PH-F120MP, 3*Noiseblocker eLoop 120mm, 6*Corsair ML120 and 18*Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PL2

But have tried like Noctua A12x25, NF-F12 ,BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 or Pure Wings and Vardar F3 1850RPM

Noctua are my favourites, but they're expensive, Phanteks PH-F120MP are my another fans which are my another favourites, great fans for money and if you are running fans at 1000-1200RPM then they're great sounding fans, noisier than Noctua, Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PL2 are too nice sounding fans, just have bad luck with them, two of them started make unusual noise and RMA have been only option, Corsair ML120 hard to say if I would recommend them,3 of 6 fans Corsair replaced have been replaced under warranty,BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 nice sounding fans but expensive and beyond 1300-1500RPM they can be noisy

EK Vardar F3 1850RPM these fans I just can't or wouldn't touch or recommend, bearing noise or noise around 800-950RPM have been awful and hated these fans plus high starting draw can be issue for Aquaero

Nidec Servo Gentle Typhoon not sure, but these fans have high starting draw up to 0.53A and not sure if I would run more than 6 on one header/output on Aquaero, if you are running Aquaero 5 series then you are too limited by max draw at 1.5-1.65A,I know its start up draw but at this start up yours fans would be running at max speed and can trip protection on Aquaero

Hope this helps

Thanks, Jura

NOT 100% sure on this one but it is highly rated: Silent typhoons, tho they may be hard to find as they are no longer being produced.
The Nidecs are still made, since when did Nidec stop making fans? You only can't buy them easily which was always an issue with any industrial product. If you want to buy 1000 or 10k of them I'm sure they will sell them.

I would not even consider Noctua and the like due to their insane price. They offer same quality, same warranty with sometimes slightly better performance/noise but for 5x price with a puke color scheme.

doyll I've used and tested lots of fans and Phanteks PH-F120MP and PH-F140MP are probably my favorites. Low noise .. and pleasant sound when they are running fast enough to hear combined with resonable price, even lower priced on special in 2-packs and 3-packs. I'm in Europe so prices may be different where you are, but they might be worth a look.
